WELCOME TO THE IO GAMES LIST. As you may or may not have noticed, within the past year or so there have been many awesome fullscreen multiplayer browser games released online. Many (although not all) of these games end with the domain extension .io, so they are commonly refered to as io games.
HOVER OVER TO READ MORE
It all began with the release of an insanely addicting game called agar.io (which was probably inspired by another game called "Osmos"). Agario grew so fast that within months, it was already seeing several hundred thousand players worldwide. What made this io game so unique was it's very interesting style. Unlike most browser games of the past, agario was designed to be played in a fullscreen browser window, and was entirely multiplayer. This io game set the framework for many of the other io games that would hit the web in the months to come. The basic idea was:
1. Have the player be able to hop right into a game with one click.
2. Keep the io game super simple to learn but difficult to master.
3. Allow the player to "scale" their authority ingame compaired to other players. (Ex. In agario you grow a lot bigger and scarier the more you eat and scale your size.)
4. And last but not least, it has to either be competitive or cooperative. After all, they're multiplayer io games...
In this site you will find that the games in the io games list have a common style and theme similar to those mentioned above. The goal of this site? The goal of the io games list is to bring exposure to these .io games that are awesome but often times go unnoticed. This is due to the fact that they are all standalone games which means that unfortunately they are all hosted on seperate sites. That's what we're here for! So, support the io games and make sure you bookmark this site (CTRL-D) We try to keep it updated with the most recent io games every week, so make sure to check back from time to time. Have fun!
